The Viva La Bands Tour hits 30 cities in the US and Canada September 24th through November 3rd. Featured acts include the Grammy-nominated British metal act Cradle of Filth, hard rockers CKY (featuring Bam's brother, Jesse Margera), shock masters GWAR and hot Swedish band Vains of Jenna, which Bam recently signed to his Filthy Note records. Another very special guest act will be announced later this summer.
Meet Britain’s most popular, adventurous and theatrical alternative metal band. Cradle of Filth can’t wait for you to experience their version of the apocalypse. They’re not a good metal band, they’re a great one, able to seamlessly meld gothic textures, symphonic music, drama and dynamics with bone-shattering death metal, high concept theater, great production and plenty of humor. They just released Eleven Burial Masses, the latest step in their quest for metal dominion. Mastering styles from brutal and bried to lustrous and lascivious, their sonic range renders them able to shred the pants off of just about anybody with their musicianship. Cradle of Filth’s blistering metal might offend and affront, but they do it in style.
Gory, perverse and scathing in the extreme, GWAR grinds listeners with brutally aggressive guitars, abrasive vocals and gross, perverted lyrics. Night after night, they push the boundaries of filth and disgust by spewing blood and gunk all over the audience. Their numerous hit albums include Scumdogs of the Universe, Carnival of Chaos, Violence Has Arrived and Beyond Hell. Utterly tasteless and proud of it, GWAR churns 80s-style ferocious metal from beyond the edge.
The first band signed to skateboarder/Jackasser Bam Margera’s record label Filthy Note, Vains of Jenna have perfected a Guns ‘n’ Roses-inspired cock rock. They slam listeners with energy, hard riffs and in-your-face attitude. Bam asked them to play the bachelor party on his reality show Unholy Union, which also featured “Don’t Give A Damn” as the show’s opening theme. The first video off their debut album Lit Up / Let Down, directed by Bam, lit up the airwaves and helped them cultivate a reputation as rock ‘n’ roll revivers.
This is also the night of The Raves First Costume Contest. $500 for best dressed Pirate and $500 for best dressed Wench. Watch the Hell-o-Ween e card for a video of last years contest. This is Hell-o-weens best party!

Thirty seconds
Jul. 31st, 2006 | 09:02 pm
mood:
anxious
music: thirty seconds beautiful lie
The thirty seconds to mars & kill hannah show was most excellent. I scored the last tickets from the bar next door at around 5pm. I got to meet the band. I touched the hand of a movie star that girls probably rub off to. All these boys had a thick stage presence I could feel. Envy on the coast was good too. I was very impressed with all 3 bands that I seen. I felt so old in there. Not very much of the crowd was old enough to drink.

Hollitopo
Jun. 1st, 2006 | 05:22 pm
I used to have a pet wolf named Hollitopo. She was taken from me when I was taken away. I miss her dearly. I got her from an Indian who raised wolves and her parents looked very evil. The indian named her and in his launguage, Hollitopo means "the sainted one". I fell in love with this animal at first sight. I never got to see Hollitopo as a full grown adult. This has come to be one of my strongest regrets. The results of the bad decisions I used to fill my life with. This made me think of her...

taste of chaos
Mar. 20th, 2006 | 04:36 pm
This weekend I went to the Rave for taste of chaos tour which included Deftones, Atreyu, Story of the year, Thrice, Dredg, As I Lay Dying, and some others. It was a bit expensive ($37) but I had a good time hearing what the kiddies are into these days. This show was sold out and in the ballroom. Tons of people. I watched one of the sets from the balcony, which I have never done in the ballroom. This music has really heavy guitars and fast drums and whiny boy vocals with periodic screaming. I love to hear people scream. I enjoyed myself. The artists were talented. Deftones were good but they started without main guitars. They must have had a technical problem or guitar player had some issue because they took about a 10 minute break after the first song (which was one of their hits). On a tour this big worse things can happen but people started to get pretty irate during the delay.
Got pretty dr0nk on the way to Milwaukee. A friend of mine and I finished off an almost full bottle of Southern Comfort. Yummy. We completed the night with a trip to Perkins which is a perfect way to end a night like this.

Nin
Feb. 11th, 2006 | 02:54 pm
music: Nin - March of the Pigs
I am excited about Nine inch nails tonight. I have been a big fan since the begining of this project. Trent's music truly got me interested in the industrial genre that I have been listening to ever since I fell in love with him. I missed him in October, due to my trip to New Orleans. I was sad about that at the time. This will be a great way to start celebrating my birthday, which is on Monday. I am sure it will be lots of fun.
P.S. Don't laugh at me if I cry to the lyrics, because I grew up relating my feelings with this man. They will bring back memories I have tried hard to forget.

music: Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting
Music at Leather and Lace was very good, I was pleased. EYG spins some good disks. The Inferno was packed. Thank you for the invite to the comforting after bar. I always feel better driving home after a couple hours of relaxing with friends. Tator totts never taste so good until the end of a night of drinking and dancing. In case you didn't know I am almost totally nocturnal so I don't normally attend the Sunday gatherings because I don't roll out of bed until 4-5 in the afternoon. If Sunday breakfast was Sunday night, I wouldn't miss it. I just wanted you guys to know I appreciate spending time with you. I always enjoy myself in your presence. I am looking forward to next weeks show at the Klinic, let me know if anyone needs assistance moving equipment or rides to the show. I wish Matt hadn't booked a show for the same day... that sucks. If only I could be at two places at once. Although I am sure Sensuous Enemy will rock harder then those Swedish chaps. See everyone at the show.

Holidays

mood:
indifferent
music: NIN - Every Day Is Exactly The Same
I had a nice dinner with mom yesterday. She made me a turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes, and a cheesecake. The meal was great and I will have leftovers for days. Mom always comes through to make the Holidays memorable. Finally getting over the fact I worked Christmas Eve and today, but my check will be bigger then normal. I got my fill of being lazy yesterday. I must have slept for 24 hours since Darryl's party Saturday night. I have had much worse holiday experiences, so I will consider this year a success. Hope you all had the same.
My parents gave me $1000 for Christmas this year. Most likely because they feel sorry for me losing everything to Katrina. Thinking of buying myself some new big speakers to fill the void of my lost Bose 901's. Any suggestions? I will be doing a lot of research about whats out these days. Thinking of some floor standing loud speakers with a mid range and tweeter built in with at least a 8in woofer. No sub, since i live in a apartment and would rarely be able to enjoy it without pissing them off.

HATE!

music: The Cure - A forest
I just learned that I don't get any days off for the Holidays, since they both land on Sunday. So, I am gonna slave away all week, just like any other week. My family is having their deal on Christmas Eve, when I have to work. If I take it off I will not even get any holiday pay and it counts as two absences. That's what I get for not planning ahead I guess. I would rather blame it on the stupid fucking corporation I am working for, because they care more about making $ then the happiness of their employees. Isn't Christmas supposed to be observed on Monday this year? On top of that its super busy and I am at my wits end with the place. I seriously need a new job. I am very bitter at the moment, and I am about to crack. It seems like I am always here at work. Almost like time moves at a different rate as I sit and take more god damn calls. I fucking hate this place! No family events this year, no holiday food, no merry christmas just an endless queue of pissed off consumers.

Family Heritage
Dec. 21st, 2005 | 06:05 pm
mood:
pessimistic
music: Cruciform Injection - Vacant Bodies
The funeral was very awkward for me. I was the estranged cousin from the south that never met his family before. Why? As it seems my grandfather gave my father and his mother to his brother because my real grandfather was already married. This is a generation where its unacceptable to have a child out of marriage, or for women to raise children by themselves. So his brother raised my father, and married my real grandfathers mistress (my real grandmother) to finalize the lie. Then my fake grandfather murdered some local girl who was in bed with his son (who would be my uncle), because he thought it was his wife cheating on him. This incident led to the suicide of his son, who would have been my uncle. He didn't even go to prison for it because our family were wealthy business owners in a small backwoods Wisconsin town.
This information was given to me by a cousin that I met for the first time Friday night at the bar my family owns. It explains why my father never introduced me to this side of the family, but I am not even sure if he knows, because he was a baby when all this went down. He has never been back here since, so I wonder.
On a good note, I met a lot of blood relatives that seem to be a lot like me. Every one of them are alcoholics, from what i gather. I have several cousins around my age that I will make a point to stay in touch with. I never got the chance to discover what a family is all about.
Saturday night I ventured to Brian's party. It was a great way to end my weekend. Matt Finale is a funny guy, he made me laugh several times. The party was fun, thanks for the invite Brian.

MORE DEATH
Dec. 14th, 2005 | 08:39 pm

melancholy
music: White Zombie - Thunder Kiss 65
My father reported that his father died today. All I need is more death this year. I have already lost 4 family members since August. I get to go to yet another funeral this Friday. I guess 2005 is the year to give up and die. We have 2 more weeks left, who is next?
Last weekends party was cool. Eric's house was very nice. Happy birthday to Neil, definitely a fun party. Great music downstairs by ffejjeff. I got to dance a little even though the club was closed. I had fun. Thanks for the invite mistress marla.

FEMA came through finally
Dec. 5th, 2005 | 09:10 pm
mood:

music: KMFDM - mini mini mini
My father finally got a FEMA trailer this week. So he isn't homeless anymore. Insurance company still trying to get out of paying the claims. Flood insurance blames the winds and the home owners blames the flood. They are seriously gonna try to wait till the government makes them pay. Somebody better be sending him a huge check. I seriously cant believe an insurance company would do that to their customers and the government let him be homeless for 3 full months.
Inferno is closed. Fucking suck. The music at Leather and Lace took a serious dive. Hardly any industrial, I don't recall hearing any "gothic" tunes. Mike Carlson is good but I am craving the darker beats from white rabbit.
P.S. packers really suck this year

A friend of mine, who couldn't hold a job where I currently work, got my dream job. I hate to think if I had the extra time on my hands I would have found it before him. I already have the certifications and degrees and I am supporting one of the most simple electronic gadgets ever, the garage opener. Most my co-workers couldn't graduate middle school let alone college. Depressing.
I am looking forward to the show tomorrow night. Jai's voice is the fairest in the land. See you folks there.

Monday sucks, especially where I work. I do not contribute enough to my company to have a assigned desk anymore, and I work 40 hours a week. I have sat at a different cube everyday last week cause they let someone else sit at my spot and I get in after noon. So, I finally say something about it so they move my favorite co-worker Jennifer to another row and give me her spot. Little things really piss me off. Someone makes a decision about my life gives me an opportunity to hate them for it. Maybe I just love to hate. I want to come to work armed with a assault rifle and .......
Not really. I will do anything for you, god money.
Tomarrow I will service my car in hopes it will last through winter. I just need a good excuse to buy a new car. It rolls just fine and plays pirated CD's and the heat works well. I guess there is no real reason to scrap it yet.

music: Stromkern - Hindsight
Was checking out stromkern site to find out who this chick is, singing with him on the new album, cause she has a great voice. Her name is Victory Floyd and she is in a group called Claire Voyant on metropolis records. I am gonna try and find some more music with her.
Anyhow I noticed Stromkern are playing a show in Chicago at a club Double door on Sunday December 18. Tickets are $10. Anyone interested in going? Not too many shows that I am aware of this coming month, aside from Sensuous Enemy. I gotta get my fix of live music.
Off to grill out and watch pack lose.
